Where to eat?

Sardinian cuisine is diverse and unique.

You can taste pecorino in many ways. Fresh salsicia, baked fregola pasta, lamb, pork, or Sardinian bread – everything tastes divine😊

Sardinian cuisine does not equal Italian cuisine, but it tastes unique and delicious!

In our area, we have tried and recommended these restaurants that you should visit.

Pizzeria and restaurant in LaCiaccia – pizza, fresh fish os our fisherman Pescheria Santoni, mussels, spaghetti, steaks

Lu Maestarli restaurant on the hill on the road between Baia delle Mimosa and Viddalba – a restaurant with a wonderful view of the sea with breathtaking sunsets, friendly and also English-speaking service.

In addition to classic dishes, you can also taste Spaghetti negro con sepia – definitely worth trying, they taste great

And don’t miss the typical Sardinka specialty – grilled skewers „budella di agnello alla griglia con frattaglie“ – it’s lamb intestines with entrails – you have to taste it! Don’t worry, I love 😊 them

You can experience the pinnacle of Sardinian gastronomy at the Trattoria da Alessio restaurant in Vidalllba

In this restaurant, you won’t get a menu or pizza – the daily menu will be listed on a black board.

You will only have a choice between sea or meat.

This gastronomic experience for about 35-40 Euro consists of about eight courses… 😊

I won’t reveal more, you just have to try this. I recommend looking forward to the evening and not having a snack for lunch 😊

If you are looking for Aragosta in the Sardinian style, or if you are in the mood for snails with herb butter, do not hesitate to ask the chef and owner of Alessio when he could prepare 😊 them for you

Agriturismo Casteldoria Di Rosso Francesco, or Beda Ista

Are you tired of fish, pizza, or spaghetti with mussels?

Never mind, we have another tip😊

Sardinia is famous for the fact that there are private farms where they breed sheep, pigs, cows, but they also grow a lot of vegetables, make pecorino, everything from nature, and it is in their restaurants that you can taste an eight-course menu of everything that is typical for Sardinia for about 40 Euros.

It is brewed at any time of the year from what has just ripened or grown 😊

These restaurants are also very popular with locals, so we recommend booking a table in advance

And finally, our recommendations when it comes to wine.

We always buy local Vermentino for about 6 Euro per bottle – the origin of this variety is described as coming from Spain, from the vicinity of Marseille, from where it spread to France, but Giorgio Gallesio (Italian botanist 18.st) describes it as a Ligurian autochthonous variety from the Cinque Terre region, at that time called Piccabon and Piccabuon.

The Sardinians present it as their typical variety, which thrives here and is worth trying 😊

A very good brand is Aragosta – a bottle with shrimp on the packaging, which you can find as a wine, or frizzante, which goes well with fish or even pizza😊 If you have a steak from our recommended butcher shop from Santa Maria Coghinas in Macelleria Paoni, you can’t miss the Sardinian red wine Canonau  on the table.
